Paying RM150+ for one studio, then another RM200 for a different one, adds up fast. ClassPass gives you one monthly membership you can spend at gyms and studios across KL: spin on Monday, reformer Pilates on Wednesday, a HYROX-style class on Saturday.
Here’s how it actually works, the rules that catch new members out, and whether it’s worth it for you.
How ClassPass works
- Pick a monthly plan. Each plan gives you a set number of credits. Bigger plans give you more credits.
- Find a class. Search by area, time or type: spin, HIIT, strength, boxing, yoga, reformer Pilates, dance and more.
- Book with credits. Every class shows its credit price. Popular studios and peak times cost more credits. Quieter times cost fewer.
- Show up and check in. The studio has your booking. Just give your name at the front desk.
Prices change from time to time, so check the current Malaysian plans in the app or on the sign-up page before you choose. Start small if you’re not sure. You can change your plan later.

The rules that catch new members out
Credits roll over, but not all of them
On an active paid monthly plan, unused credits you’ve paid for roll over, up to the number of credits in your next month’s plan. Trial and free credits usually don’t roll over. If you cancel your membership, any credits left are lost at the end of the billing cycle.
The 12-hour cancellation window
You can usually cancel a class up to 12 hours before it starts with no fee, and your credits come back. Cancel later than that, or don’t show up, and you’ll pay a late cancellation or no-show fee. Some studios set an earlier deadline, so check the class details when you book.
It’s month to month
There’s no annual contract. Cancel before your next billing date if you don’t want another month.
5 ways to get more out of your credits
- Book off-peak. Mid-morning and early-afternoon classes often cost fewer credits than 7am and 7pm slots.
- Mix expensive and cheap classes. Save your credits for the reformer studio you love, and use cheaper strength or yoga classes for the rest of the week.
- Use your rollover. Had a busy month? Unused paid credits carry forward (up to your plan’s limit), so you don’t have to cram classes in.
- Try a studio before buying its package. If you find one you’d go to 4+ times a week, buying that studio’s own package may work out cheaper.
- Book early for popular classes. The best reformer and spin slots in Bangsar and Mont Kiara fill up days ahead.
Is ClassPass worth it?
ClassPass is a good fit if you:
- Get bored doing the same workout every week
- Want to try reformer Pilates, spin or HYROX-style training before committing to one studio
- Work in one area and live in another, and want classes near both
- Are training for an event, like HYROX Kuala Lumpur, and want different kinds of sessions
- Need indoor options during the haze (see haze workouts in KL)
A regular gym membership is better if you:
- Train at the same gym 5+ times a week
- Mostly do your own programme with free weights
- Want 24-hour access

How does ClassPass work in Malaysia?
You pay a monthly membership and get a set number of credits. You spend those credits booking classes at gyms and studios across KL and the Klang Valley, and in some cities on spa and salon appointments. Each class costs a different number of credits depending on the studio, the time and how popular it is.
Do ClassPass credits roll over?
On an active paid monthly plan, unused purchased credits roll over up to the number of credits in your next month's plan. Trial credits and free credits generally don't roll over, and remaining credits are lost if you cancel.
What happens if I cancel a ClassPass class late?
You can usually cancel up to 12 hours before the start time with no fee and get your credits back. Inside that window, or if you don't show up, a late cancellation or no-show fee applies. Some studios set an earlier deadline, which is shown when you book.
Is ClassPass cheaper than a gym membership in KL?
It depends on how you train. If you go to the same gym five times a week, a gym membership is usually cheaper. If you like variety, such as spin one day, Pilates another and a HYROX-style class on the weekend, ClassPass usually costs less than paying several studios separately.
Is there a ClassPass free trial?
New members usually get an introductory offer, such as free workouts or a trial, when they sign up through a referral link. The exact offer is shown on the sign-up page before you pay anything.
Can I cancel ClassPass any time?
Yes. Memberships are month to month with no annual contract. Cancel before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the next month.
